This training programme is to
provide further training in chosen speciality. This includes
rotation to different sub specialities every 6 months to get
enough exposure
Trainees are expected to engage in academic activates like
research, audit, presentation, teaching and to pass
membership exams to get the membership of the college
At the end of every year
there will be assessment every trainees progress. If a
trainee fails to progress and achieve the expected level of
competency, then he may struggle to move on to the next
stage

3- 4 Years |
Speciality Training |
Speciality training is the
last stage of your specialist training. In this stage of
training, you will be working in the chosen subspecialty
(Neurology, Cardiology, Child Psychiatry etc)
Trainees are expected to
attain highest level of clinical skills, clinical
competency, leadership skills, sound knowledge of NHS
structure, management, teaching, research and clinical
governance.
Some sub specialities have
an exit exam or fellowship exams to complete before the
award of completion certificate |
RUN THROUGH
SCHEME: Some specialities have run through programme. There is
no division of core training and higher specialist training. After
completing foundation training or equalant one can apply for these
posts. Once you are in the training job there is no further
interview to progress.

What can I do
after passing PLAB??

It depends on your previous
experience. If you have not done internship, then you can only
start with F1 training Jobs

If you have completed the
Internship you can apply for F1 and F2 jobs

If you have at least 2 years of
experience including internship, you can apply for F1, F2, CT1
and Run through training schemes
