Introduction: PLAB
means Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board. Pass in this test
makes an overseas doctor eligible for registration with GMC According to GMC the aim of the test is to assess a
candidate`s command of English language, professional knowledge and
skills. The
PLAB test is designed to test your ability to work safely in the first
appointment as a senior house officer in a UK hospital in the National
Health Service (NHS). The test is in two parts: ·
Part 1 is
a single paper consisting of EMQ (Know about the recent changes of exam

Part 2 is
a 14-station objective structure clinical examination (OSCE), which tests
your clinical and communication skills. You cannot appear for Part 2 until you have passed Part 1.
You must take Part 2 within three years of passing Part 1. Because there
is a high demand for places, particularly for Part 2, you will generally
have to wait between four and six months between applying for, and
getting, a place. So you must make sure you apply in plenty of time. PLAB
Test will be valid for 3 years and you need to register with GMC within
this period. Fees
